Wall Street traders may soon be able to pay for a speedier look at major Truth Social posts, including updates from President Trump’s account.
Trump Media & Technology Group said Thursday it plans to launch a Truth API data feed aimed at financial firms, offering what the company described as real-time access to posts from the platform’s top-ranked accounts. The service is expected to become available on Aug. 1, according to the company.
The pitch is all about speed. Trump Media said the feed will deliver posts to paying customers in “milliseconds,” a feature designed for firms where even a small lag in information can carry a cost.
Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive officer of Trump Media & Technology Group, said in the company’s announcement that “markets already move on Truth Social posts.”
A feed built for fast traders
Trump Media said the Truth API is intended for companies most affected by delays in information, including high-frequency trading firms that buy and sell shares in fractions of seconds.
The company said the service will offer round-the-clock coverage and include an archive of posts going back to 2022. It did not disclose the price of the product.
McGurn said Trump Media expects the new service to become a “meaningful, ongoing source of revenue” for the company. He also described it as a licensed live feed of the platform’s most market-moving posts and part of a plan to make money from the company’s own assets through recurring revenue.
Trump Media’s announcement positions Truth Social posts as data that can be packaged and sold to investors looking for faster access to statements that may affect markets.
Trump’s account is the main draw
President Trump is Truth Social’s best-known user and has 12.9 million followers on the platform, according to CBS News. His eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the White House also have followings in the millions.
The president has used Truth Social to announce or discuss major policy matters, including tariffs and the Iran war, CBS News reported. Those posts have been followed closely by investors because such announcements can move financial markets.
Trump founded Trump Media & Technology Group in 2021 after several major social media platforms suspended his accounts following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Those suspensions have since been lifted.
The new Truth API gives Trump Media another way to turn activity on its social platform into revenue, this time by selling speed and access to financial customers watching political posts for market signals.
