Link’s world is heading for the toy shelf. Hasbro and Nintendo announced on July 16 that they have struck a multi-year licensing deal to make toys based on The Legend of Zelda.

The first products under the agreement are scheduled to arrive in 2027, according to the companies. Before that retail launch, Hasbro plans to show the first three figures at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, which runs July 23-26.

Hasbro has said the opening reveal will feature three 6-inch-scale action figures inspired by Nintendo’s long-running fantasy franchise. The company has not yet identified which characters will be included in that first wave.

Three figures first, full launch later

The announcement gives collectors a clear first checkpoint: San Diego Comic-Con 2026. That is where the initial trio of figures will be presented before the broader line goes on sale in 2027.

Hasbro has not released images, accessories, pricing, packaging details or retailer information for the toys. The companies have also not said how many products will be part of the 2027 launch.

Billy Lagor, Hasbro’s president of toys and board games, said in the announcement that The Legend of Zelda has held fans’ attention for decades through its lore, characters and sense of discovery.

“By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures,” Lagor said.

Characters remain under wraps

Hasbro’s announcement leaves the big character question unanswered for now. The company has not confirmed whether Link, Princess Zelda, Ganondorf or any other familiar faces from the series will appear in the first batch.

That mystery is likely to be the draw for fans watching the Comic-Con reveal. For now, the only confirmed details are the scale, the number of first-look figures and the 2027 launch window.

The deal is described as the first major toy partnership between Nintendo and Hasbro for The Legend of Zelda. The franchise began in the U.S. nearly 40 years ago and remains one of Nintendo’s best-known series.

For Hasbro, the agreement adds another major gaming property to its toy slate. For Nintendo, it puts one of its marquee adventure franchises into a new collectibles push, with the first look now locked for Comic-Con 2026.
