Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda returned to Wembley Stadium for a very on-brand victory lap: a collector’s edition vinyl release celebrating one year of their Yash Raj Films romance, Saiyaara.
Variety reports that the Bollywood stars appeared at the London venue to unveil the new LP package, built around the film’s songs, score and dialogue. The setting was no random photo op. Wembley plays a key role in Saiyaara, including a scene where Panday’s Krish Kapoor recognizes Padda’s Vaani Batra on the stadium’s big screen by her eyes. The movie’s final concert sequence also takes place there.
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, became a major box-office success. According to Variety, the film earned more than INR580 crore, or $69 million, worldwide and is credited as the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema history.
What is inside the collector’s set
The anniversary release is a two-disc vinyl package. Variety reports that the first LP includes all nine songs from the soundtrack.
The second disc widens the film’s audio world with 25 recordings: 16 pieces from the original background score and nine notable dialogue sequences from the movie.
The set also comes with a Saiyaara diary featuring notes from Suri, Widhani, Panday, Padda and members of the film’s music team. The contributors listed by Variety include Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, Arslan Nizami, Irshad Kamil, The Rish, Vishal Mishra, Raj Shekhar, Sachet-Parampara, Mithoon and John Stewart Eduri.
Fans will also find an ink pen designed to recall Vaani’s notebook from the film, along with two bookmarks showing the lead characters, Krish and Vaani.
YRF marks a return to romance
Widhani told Variety that Saiyaara was personal for YRF because it brought the studio back to romance, a genre he said has long shaped its identity. He said the team wanted the movie to be paired with a music album that could stand within that tradition.
He described the vinyl as a keepsake for fans and music lovers, saying it preserves the film’s emotional arc through its songs, sound and dialogue.
Suri also put the focus squarely on the music. He told Variety that songs were central to Krish and Vaani’s relationship and to the feeling of the film. He said the LP was designed to let people experience Saiyaara again through “one emotion, one melody, and one memory at a time.”
The Saiyaara collector’s edition vinyl LP will be available to buyers worldwide, according to Variety.
