Al Roker says he and Craig Melvin are safe after an alleged intruder scare at NBC’s “Today” show turned a regular morning at 30 Rock into a security nightmare.

The longtime weather anchor addressed the incident Friday on Instagram, posting a photo montage of himself with Melvin set to Avicii’s “Hey Brother.” In the caption, Roker thanked people who checked on them after the episode.

“A really heartfelt thank you to all who reached out over the last 24 hours to check in on my brother, @craigmelvinnbc We are both okay,” Roker wrote.

Roker also framed the response as a show of unity around Melvin. “It’s moments like these that serve to pull us together. You all, like Craig, said ‘You come after one of us, you come after all of us,’” he wrote.

What TMZ reported happened at 30 Rock

TMZ reported that Andrew Truelove got past security at 30 Rock on Thursday morning and went inside looking for Roker. According to TMZ, Truelove was unable to find him.

The report said Truelove then focused on Melvin and allegedly lunged at him while yelling the n-word. The alleged incident happened inside the “Today” show’s New York home, where the NBC morning program is based.

TMZ reported that Truelove was sent to Rikers Island after the alleged breach. The outlet also reported that he is facing multiple hate crime charges connected to the incident.

No response from Truelove was included in TMZ’s reporting.

Craig Melvin also addressed the encounter

Melvin has also spoken publicly after the alleged incident. According to a separate TMZ report, the “Today” anchor said he was good after what he described as a “wacky” studio encounter.

The scare has drawn extra attention because it allegedly happened after a security breach at one of television’s most recognizable morning-show studios. TMZ also reported in a separate item that “Today” increased security after the incident.

Roker’s post kept the focus on Melvin and the people who reached out. The Instagram message did not add new details about the alleged encounter, but it made clear that both NBC personalities were unharmed.

The incident remains tied to criminal allegations that have not been proven in court. TMZ’s reporting identifies Truelove as the suspect and says he is facing hate crime charges after the alleged confrontation with Melvin.

For now, Roker’s message to fans was short and steady: he and Melvin are okay, and the “Today” family is standing together.
