A.R. Rahman brings his immersive world to Apple Vision Pro
The Oscar-winning composer’s ARR Immersive app launches July 22 with “Le Musk” material, Kathak performances and concert content.

A.R. Rahman is putting his music in the headset.
The two-time Oscar-winning Indian composer will launch ARR Immersive on Apple Vision Pro on July 22, Variety reported. The app gathers work from Rahman’s past decade of experimenting with immersive storytelling and adapts it for Apple’s spatial computing device.
Rahman, known globally for his work on “Slumdog Millionaire” and “127 Hours,” is using the new platform to bring material from “Le Musk” to Apple Vision Pro for the first time, according to Variety. “Le Musk,” a 360-degree virtual reality film, previously debuted at the Cannes XR Festival.
For the Vision Pro release, footage from “Le Musk” has been reworked for the headset’s spatial format, Variety reported.
What is in ARR Immersive at launch
The launch lineup is built around three strands: “Le Musk” material, original dance pieces created for the app and a concert section called ARR Live.
Variety reported that the app includes three Kathak dance performances made exclusively for the platform. The pieces combine Western orchestral music with Indian classical dance.
The performances feature Pranith AP, Palak Chauhan and Mudra IV, with choreography by Shrita Baskar, according to the report.
ARR Live, another section of the app, focuses on Rahman’s concert performances. Variety also reported that additional titles are already in development for later release.
Rahman’s pitch: music you can step into
Rahman described the project as an attempt to make audiences feel placed inside a performance rather than viewing it from a distance.
“For me, music has always been more than something we hear, it is something we feel emotionally,” Rahman told Variety. He said technology now makes it possible to experience music and stories in ways that were not possible a few years ago.
Rahman said the ARR Immersive app was designed as a space where viewers do not only watch a performance or hear a composition, but feel present within it. He described the project as a meeting point for music, storytelling and technology, and called it “only the beginning.”
Where to get it
ARR Immersive will be available through Apple’s App Store, with its debut first set for Apple Vision Pro, Variety reported.
A Meta Quest version is expected to follow, though Variety did not report a release date for that edition.
The launch makes Vision Pro the first Apple headset home for Rahman’s “Le Musk” content, while positioning ARR Immersive as a new outlet for his performance, film and music experiments in spatial media.
