The Big Brother season 28 week 2 eviction ended with Jack “Rome” Seymour walking out of the CBS house after a lopsided 12-1 vote on Thursday’s live episode.
Julie Chen Moonves hosted the July 23 episode, which marked the season’s second eviction and closed out a busy Head of Household run for Rick Devens, the Survivor alum who held power for the week.
Rick’s target was Rome, according to the CBS episode, but he first put Jason de Puy, Melody Morris and Lyric Medeiros on the block. The move set up a backdoor attempt, a Big Brother strategy in which a player is not nominated at first but can be added later after the Power of Veto is used.
That plan stayed on track when Rick also won the Power of Veto. He used it to remove Lyric from danger, then named Rome as the replacement nominee, leaving Jason, Melody and Rome facing the live-eviction night scramble.
Who was evicted on Big Brother season 28 in week 2?
Rome was evicted from Big Brother season 28 in Week 2. The final vote was 12 votes to evict Rome and one vote to evict Melody.
Before the houseguests voted, the three nominees still had one last route to safety through the BB Block Buster competition. The contest gives the people on the block another chance to save themselves before the eviction vote.
Jason, Melody and Rome competed in the live episode. Jason, identified on the broadcast as a RuPaul’s Drag Race alum, won the competition and came off the block, cutting the final eviction choice down to Melody or Rome.
How did the Big Brother house vote?
Once Jason was safe, the house moved hard against Rome. Taylor cast the only vote to evict Melody.
- Jason voted to evict Rome.
- Yash voted to evict Rome.
- Dee voted to evict Rome.
- Angela voted to evict Rome.
- Barrett voted to evict Rome.
- Lyric voted to evict Rome.
- Mallory voted to evict Rome.
- Drew voted to evict Rome.
- LaTrice voted to evict Rome.
- Haley voted to evict Rome.
- Chuk voted to evict Rome.
- Kamu voted to evict Rome.
The result made Rome the second houseguest removed from the game this season. Melody survived the vote after spending the week as one of Rick’s original nominees.
Rick’s week as HOH began with three nominations, shifted with his veto win and ended with the replacement nominee becoming the one sent out. For a house built on shifting targets, this one landed almost exactly where the Head of Household had aimed it.
