Aysia Collins, a former friend of D4vd, says she stopped supporting the singer after his arrest and has cooperated with investigators in the case involving Celeste Rivas, according to TMZ.
In a video posted by TMZ and credited to Twitch/aysiacollins, Collins addressed the public backlash she says she has received because she once knew D4vd. She said people have directed anger at her and others who crossed paths with him, while she believes the focus should remain on Rivas.
Collins said she first met D4vd while modeling on one of his sets. She later worked as a stylist on his tour, according to TMZ.
She denied having a romantic relationship with the singer. Collins said she no longer supports him after learning about the allegations and said she has assisted investigators because she wants accountability in Rivas’ death.
“All I want to do is get justice for Celeste Rivas!” Collins said in the video, according to TMZ.
Collins pushes back on blame
Collins said criticism aimed at her and other people connected to D4vd is misplaced. Her position, as described by TMZ, is that personal attacks on those around him distract from the case itself and from Rivas.
TMZ previously reported that Collins claimed she confronted D4vd over an alleged relationship with Rivas when Rivas was 13. Collins said he misled her into thinking Rivas was 19 and provided unspecified “proof,” according to that earlier account.
Those claims have not been tested in court. D4vd has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The charges against D4vd
D4vd was arrested in April, according to TMZ. He has been charged with one count of murder, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and one count of unlawful mutilation of human remains.
The case is still in the pretrial stage. TMZ reported that his preliminary hearing is in its second day, with prosecutors trying to persuade a judge that there is enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
The charges are allegations, and D4vd is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. TMZ’s report did not include a new public statement from D4vd responding to Collins’ latest comments.
