Forensic criminalist says possible blood found across D4vd garage

Red stains in the Hollywood Hills garage rented by singer D4vd tested positive for possible blood, an LAPD forensic criminalist testified Wednesday during the second day of his preliminary hearing in the alleged murder of Celeste Rivas.
Lauren Wallace, a criminalist with the Los Angeles Police Department’s forensic science division, told the court she helped process the home in September 2025, days after Rivas’ body was discovered, according to TMZ’s courtroom account.
D4vd has been charged with murdering Rivas. TMZ reported that her dismembered body was found last September in the front trunk of his Tesla.
Tests inside the garage
Wallace testified that investigators used BLUESTAR, a chemical test used to detect potential blood evidence, while examining the garage at the rented home.
According to her testimony, stains near a Tesla charger and a rowing machine returned positive results for possible blood. Wallace also said the garage floor had black interlocking rubber mats that showed major damage.
She described seven straight cuts in the mats that she said were consistent with a sharp object, according to TMZ. The mats also reacted during BLUESTAR testing, indicating possible blood, Wallace testified.
Wallace said investigators also tested a stained trash bag, which came back positive for possible blood. She told the court that an inflatable pool found in the garage smelled like laundry and had a dryer sheet rolled inside it.
Other items described in court
Wallace testified that investigators collected a large amount of evidence from the scene, including a green tarp with red stains, disinfectant wipes and two chainsaws.
The chainsaws tested negative for blood, she said.
Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman asked Wallace whether investigators found a Makita 10-inch chainsaw, which prosecutors allege D4vd ordered on Postmates on May 4, 2025. Wallace said they did not find that tool, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported that D4vd watched the evidence presentation in court without showing much visible reaction. The hearing paused during Wallace’s testimony.
Rivas’ parents, who had attended court both Tuesday and Wednesday, did not return after the break when court resumed, TMZ reported.
The case so far
The testimony came as prosecutors continued presenting evidence at the preliminary hearing, where a judge weighs whether the case should proceed.
The allegations against D4vd remain unproven in court. No response from D4vd to Wallace’s testimony was reported in TMZ’s courtroom account.
