Diddy seeks sanctions over Grace O’Marcaigh yacht lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs is asking a federal judge to make Grace O’Marcaigh and her attorneys pay up in a lawsuit tied to an alleged 2022 yacht incident, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Combs’ legal team argues O’Marcaigh filed an amended complaint that should not have been brought after a judge found California courts lacked personal jurisdiction over him, TMZ reported.
In the filing, Combs’ lawyers describe the revised complaint as “frivolous” and say it repeats jurisdiction arguments the court had already rejected. They argue O’Marcaigh and her attorneys did not fix the issues the judge identified in the earlier ruling.
Combs is asking for sanctions against O’Marcaigh and her lawyers, including attorney fees and costs, according to the court documents cited by TMZ.
Combs’ lawyers say the case forced more spending
The filing says Combs had to spend additional money responding to what his attorneys call a meritless amended complaint. His side argues the court’s prior ruling should have ended the California jurisdiction theory against him unless O’Marcaigh could add allegations that cured the problem.
Combs’ lawyers say the amended version did not do that. Their position, as reported by TMZ, is that the new complaint repackaged old arguments rather than giving the court a proper basis to keep him in the California case.
O’Marcaigh’s attorneys reject that claim. In letters attached to the filing, they argue the amended complaint included new allegations they believe connect Combs to California through the yacht charter involved in the lawsuit, TMZ reported.
Her lawyers also say the judge allowed them to amend the complaint. They contend Combs’ sanctions request has no basis.
The lawsuit stems from an alleged 2022 incident
O’Marcaigh previously sued Combs and his son, Christian “King” Combs, over an alleged incident aboard a yacht in the Caribbean in 2022, according to TMZ.
O’Marcaigh claims she was working as a steward on the vessel when Christian Combs allegedly sexually assaulted her. She also alleges Sean Combs bears civil responsibility for what happened.
Sean Combs has denied the allegations, TMZ reported. TMZ did not report a response from Christian Combs in connection with the new sanctions filing.
The latest fight is now focused on whether O’Marcaigh’s amended complaint should carry financial consequences for her side, or whether her attorneys were within their rights to try again after the judge gave permission to amend.
