The Deadites are getting a theme-park address this fall. “Evil Dead Burn,” the latest film from New Line Cinema, is being turned into a haunted house for Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, Variety reports.
The attraction opens first at Universal Orlando Resort on Aug. 28, then at Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 3. Both versions will run on select nights through Nov. 1, according to Variety.
The maze will drop guests into the Price family’s remote vacation home in the woods, where the film’s nightmare begins. From there, Variety reports, visitors will move through scenes inspired by the movie and face Deadites as the evil spreads through the house.
A new chapter in the horror franchise
“Evil Dead Burn” is scheduled for release on July 24. The film is directed and co-written by Sébastien Vaniček, according to Variety.
The movie is the sixth entry in the “Evil Dead” franchise. Variety reports that it is also the third standalone installment, following 2013’s “Evil Dead” and 2023’s “Evil Dead Rise.”
The cast includes Souheila Yacoub of “Dune: Part Two,” Hunter Doohan of “Wednesday” and “Daredevil: Born Again,” Luciane Buchanan of “The Night Agent,” Tandi Wright of “Pearl” and George Pullar of “It Only Takes a Night.”
Sam Raimi produces with Rob Tapert through Ghost House Pictures, according to Variety. Bruce Campbell, the original “Evil Dead” star, and “Evil Dead Rise” director Lee Cronin are executive producers.
More movie scares on the way
“Evil Dead Burn” is not the only film getting the Halloween Horror Nights treatment this year. Variety previously reported that Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” is also joining the lineup.
That haunted house will send guests to the Juke Joint, where red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert and Joan appear, according to Variety. The attraction will also feature characters from the film, including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread.
Universal’s lineup also includes “Hellraiser” and what Variety describes as one last adventure with “Stranger Things.” More haunted houses and event offerings are still to be announced.
Halloween Horror Nights begins Aug. 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Sept. 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tickets are on sale through HalloweenHorrorNights.com.
