A FedEx iguana video from Memphis has a simple setup and a very lively payoff: Roderick Duncan opened a shipping box inside the store, and his iguana, Titan, immediately made a break for it.

TMZ reported that Duncan, who posts on Instagram as @chefp_, was at the FedEx location to collect the reptile after having it shipped overnight. The handoff did not stay calm for long.

According to TMZ, the video shows the large iguana getting out of the package and moving around the store as people react in real time. One store worker, apparently startled as the lizard came over the counter area, ran off and fell to the floor.

Duncan filmed the scene and later explained on Instagram that he had expected Titan to be sluggish after the trip. In his post, Duncan said the iguana had been shipped overnight and he thought the animal would be stiff for a bit, as he said reptiles often are after shipping. Titan, he said, arrived ready to move.

What happened in the FedEx iguana video?

The video, as described by TMZ, shows Duncan opening the package in a Memphis FedEx store before Titan escapes from the box. The iguana then scurries through the store, prompting a startled reaction from an employee and sending Duncan after the reptile.

TMZ reported that Duncan eventually had to go into a back room to corral Titan. The moment turned into a quick bit of reptile wrangling rather than a routine package pickup.

Duncan compared the effort to a Steve Irwin-style rescue in spirit, according to TMZ, as he chased down the animal inside the store. The late Irwin was known for handling wildlife on television, but the Memphis scene was very much a retail-counter version.

Despite the tumble and the burst of chaos, Duncan said the scare did not lead to injuries. TMZ reported that he said nobody was hurt and that the people involved were laughing by the time the episode was over.

Who is Titan?

Titan is the iguana Duncan said he was picking up at the FedEx store after overnight shipping. The reptile’s quick exit from the box is what turned the pickup into a viral animal clip.

The video was posted from Duncan’s Instagram account, @chefp_, and TMZ identified him as Roderick Duncan. The outlet described the animal as a large iguana and said Duncan had expected a much slower start when he opened the package.

Instead, Titan delivered the opposite: a sprint, a startled worker, and a store pickup that ended with everyone safe.
