Interview With the Vampire season 4 is Queen of the Damned
AMC renewed Anne Rice’s vampire drama for a fourth season, with Queen of the Damned set to follow The Vampire Lestat.

AMC has ordered Interview With the Vampire season 4, and the next chapter already has a title: Queen of the Damned.
The renewal was announced at San Diego Comic-Con ahead of Sunday’s Season 3 finale of The Vampire Lestat, Variety reported. The new season will adapt Anne Rice’s third novel in the vampire saga.
Executive producers Mark Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch joined cast members Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian and Sheila Atim on stage at Comic-Con for a panel about The Vampire Lestat, where the renewal news was revealed.
Moscovitch will be showrunner on Queen of the Damned. She will also executive produce alongside Johnson and Rolin Jones, according to the announcement.
What is Interview With the Vampire season 4 about?
Season 4 will be based on Rice’s Queen of the Damned, the third book in her series. AMC’s Dan McDermott said in the renewal statement that the story will see established characters face Akasha, with both their world and ours at stake.
McDermott, chief content officer of AMC Global Media and president of AMC Studios, praised The Vampire Lestat team in the statement, saying Johnson, Jones, Moscovitch and the cast delivered a season with “propulsive storytelling” for the franchise’s fans.
He also called Queen of the Damned one of the most iconic stories in Anne Rice’s mythology.
How The Vampire Lestat fits into the series
The Vampire Lestat is the third season of AMC’s Interview With the Vampire, though it was rebranded to match Rice’s second novel, which it adapts.
The season puts Sam Reid’s Lestat at the center of the story as an aspiring rock star. In the season, Lestat gives journalist Daniel Molloy, played by Eric Bogosian, an interview for his film.
That interview includes personal confessions from Lestat, including his memories of his first love, Nicolas de Lenfent, played by Joseph Potter. Nicolas becomes a vampire with Lestat, according to the season’s storyline.
The rock-star turn also brought original music into the series. The production created 20 songs performed by Reid, including “Your Biggest Fan” and “All Fall Down,” along with a cover of Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself.”
Where the AMC vampire saga started
Interview With the Vampire first premiered on AMC in 2022. The series is the second screen adaptation of Rice’s 1976 novel.
The first major adaptation was the 1994 film led by Tom Cruise, which brought Rice’s vampire story to theaters decades before AMC built out its television version.
With the Queen of the Damned renewal, AMC is keeping its Anne Rice universe moving beyond The Vampire Lestat and into one of the best-known titles in the author’s vampire canon.
