Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer were photographed on the Santa Monica set of Netflix’s new version of 13 Going on 30, according to TMZ, putting two familiar faces from the 2004 movie right in the middle of the reboot buzz.

The images, credited to Backgrid and reported by TMZ, show Garner and Greer alongside Emily Bader, who is starring in the new project. Netflix has not publicly laid out the story, according to the report, so the exact shape of the movie remains under wraps.

Garner’s involvement behind the camera was already known: TMZ reported she is an executive producer on the project. The fresh photos suggest she may also appear onscreen, though the report did not say Netflix has confirmed a role for her in the cast.

Greer’s appearance is the bigger surprise. TMZ reported this is the first indication that Greer, who appeared with Garner in the original film, is connected to the reboot at all.

Netflix is keeping the plot quiet

The streamer has offered little about the new movie so far. Netflix’s Tudum site has described director Brett Haley as “reimagining” the 2004 film for Netflix, according to TMZ.

That leaves fans with more photos than answers. Bader is attached as the star, Garner is attached as an executive producer, and now set images place Garner and Greer at the shoot in Santa Monica.

The original 13 Going on 30 starred Garner and Greer, and the new project is being framed as a reboot rather than a direct plot continuation in the reporting. No plot details were included in TMZ’s report.

For now, the Santa Monica sighting is the clearest sign yet that Netflix’s update may be pulling from the original movie’s star power, not just its title.

Until Netflix says more, Garner and Greer’s exact roles remain unconfirmed. But the photos have already given longtime fans a reason to watch this reboot closely.
