Jon Bon Jovi told fans a Jon Bon Jovi MSG reschedule is coming after vocal trouble forced him to stop a Madison Square Garden concert early on Thursday, according to Deadline.

The Bon Jovi frontman had been performing at the New York arena during the band’s Forever Tour when he told the crowd he could not finish the night at the level he wanted. Videos from the concert that circulated online showed him addressing the audience directly.

“I’m sorry, I’m hurt and you’re not getting the best of me,” Bon Jovi said in the fan-shot clips, as reported by Deadline.

He also urged concertgoers not to toss their proof of entry while the band works out the next step. “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m gonna figure something out, OK? Just hold onto it, we’ll figure out how to reschedule,” he said, according to the same videos cited by Deadline. “But I’m gonna have to cool it for the night.”

Why did Jon Bon Jovi stop the MSG show?

Deadline reported that Bon Jovi stopped the Madison Square Garden performance because of vocal issues. The singer told the audience he was hurt and that fans were not getting his best performance, then said the show would be rescheduled.

The interrupted concert came about two weeks after Bon Jovi launched the Forever Tour at Madison Square Garden on July 7. The kickoff performance was also at the New York venue, according to Deadline, which identified the July 7 show as the start of the tour.

Bon Jovi’s voice has been a major part of the band’s recent story. Deadline reported that the singer had reconstructive surgery on his vocal cords in 2022 after voice problems dating back to 2015.

He discussed those issues in the Hulu docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, according to Deadline. The series covered the band’s history and his recovery as questions swirled over whether he could return to touring.

A video shared on X by Jerry Braden showed Bon Jovi telling fans to hold onto their tickets for the rescheduled MSG show. The post thanked him for taking the stage and included the date July 23, 2026.

Deadline reported that Bon Jovi is scheduled to play another Madison Square Garden date on Sunday before the tour heads to the U.K. next month. A replacement date for the shortened Thursday show was not listed in Deadline’s report.

For fans, the immediate instruction from the stage was clear: keep the tickets. Bon Jovi said he would “figure something out” and work on a rescheduled date after ending the show for the night.
