Jonas Brothers head back to Camp Rock in third-film trailer
Disney’s Camp Rock 3 trailer brings Connect 3 back to camp as the band hunts for a new opening act before a reunion tour.

The Jonas Brothers are returning to Camp Rock, and this time Connect 3 needs fresh talent fast.
Disney has released a new trailer for Camp Rock 3, according to Variety, setting up the band’s trip back to the famous fictional music camp after their opening act drops out ahead of a reunion tour.
The film is scheduled to premiere Aug. 13 on Disney Channel, with a Disney+ debut set for the next day. Joe Jonas returns as Shane Gray, Nick Jonas as Nate Gray and Kevin Jonas as Jason Gray. Maria Canals-Barrera is also back as Connie.
Per the official synopsis cited by Variety, campers compete for the chance to open for their favorite band, while “tensions rise and friendships are tested,” with new alliances, revelations and romances in the mix.
The new cast includes Sherry Cola, Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean.
The first Camp Rock premiered in 2008, followed by Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. The third film has the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato as executive producers.
Veronica Rodriguez, whose credits include The Slumber Party, directs the movie. Eydie Faye, also of The Slumber Party, wrote the script. Disney Kids & Family is producing, with Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh also serving as executive producers, Variety reported.
Hard Knocks heads to Seattle
HBO has also dropped a trailer for Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the Seattle Seahawks, bringing the Seahawks to the NFL documentary series for the first time.
The series, which began in 2001, has previously followed teams including the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams. Variety reported that the Seattle edition will be the first to document the defending Super Bowl champion.
The new season focuses on training camp in Renton, Washington, and will feature head coach Mike Macdonald, quarterback Sam Darnold, offensive player Jaxon Smith-Njigba and defensive players Devon Witherspoon and Byron Murphy II.
Liev Schreiber will narrate. The show premieres Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, with streaming on HBO Max. New episodes are set to air weekly on Tuesdays through Sept. 1.
The Ark adds Edward Akrout
SYFY has cast Edward Akrout in Season 3 of The Ark in a recurring guest role, according to Variety.
Akrout, known for The Hollow Crown and Rodin, will play Kurtis Drake, the leader of Ark Twenty-Two and a second-generation clone of Kurtis Drake Prime. He is represented by Anthony & Associates in the U.S. and Curtis Brown Ltd.
The third season follows the Ark 1 crew after the creation of their new colony, Homebase 1. Captain Sharon Garnet, played by Christie Burke, and her team go back into space to look for other lost survivors from Earth, while others remain at the colony.
Reece Ritchie returns as Spencer Lane, and Richard Fleeshman returns as James Brice. The Ark was created by Dean Devlin, who serves as showrunner with Jonathan Glassner. Season 3 premieres July 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SYFY.
