Laura Viktoria Härtig, a German influencer known for travel and outdoor posts, has died at 30 after a cycling crash during her honeymoon, according to an announcement on her Instagram page and reports from Italian outlets Trentino and il Dolomiti.
Her Instagram account announced her death on Sunday. Italian reports said Härtig died from injuries suffered 19 days earlier in a head-on collision on a mountain pass in Northern Italy involving former Olympic skier Peter Runggaldier.
According to Trentino and il Dolomiti, the impact was severe. The outlets reported that Härtig’s bicycle split in two and that emergency responders resuscitated her at the scene before she was flown to a local hospital.
The reports said Härtig later died at a hospital in Germany after her family transferred her there.
A honeymoon trip turned fatal
Härtig had been in the Trentino area for her honeymoon, according to the Italian reports. Just two days before the crash, she posted on Instagram about her wedding and wrote that she had married her “soulmate for life.”
Her account, @alltimelaura, had more than 54,000 followers. She used the page to share travel and outdoor content, according to the account and the reports.
Runggaldier, the former Olympic skier involved in the collision, addressed Härtig’s death in a statement posted to social media. He shared his thoughts with Härtig’s family and asked for privacy.
