Lily Allen documentary headed to Prime Video in 2027
Prime Video says the untitled feature will look back at Lily Allen’s life and career, with Mat Whitecross directing and a global launch set for 2027.

Lily Allen’s comeback chapter is getting the feature documentary treatment at Prime Video, with a global release planned for 2027.
The streamer said the still-untitled film will be a retrospective look at Allen’s life and career. Prime Video described the project as an “intimate portrait” of the British singer, calling her a global icon and “voice of a generation.”
The documentary will include interviews with people close to Allen, according to Deadline. Prime Video said it will trace her rise from the online buzz that made her known as the “Queen of MySpace” to her place in British pop culture today.
A pop story with a sharp new chapter
Allen first broke through with songs including “Smile,” “Alfie” and “Not Fair.” Her early success made her one of the defining British pop names of the 2000s, with her MySpace-era ascent becoming part of her public story.
After spending time away from music and moving into acting, Allen returned last year with “West End Girl.” Deadline reported that the album dealt with the end of her relationship with “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour.
The record became one of the year’s major cultural talking points, according to Deadline, and Allen is currently touring behind it.
The Prime Video film arrives as Allen’s music career is back in the spotlight. The streamer’s description suggests the documentary will cover both the early rush of fame and the later twists that brought her back to recording and performing.
Who is making the film
Mat Whitecross is directing the feature. Whitecross previously made “Oasis: Supersonic,” the documentary about the Gallagher brothers’ band.
The Allen documentary is being produced by Magna Studios and Mint Pictures. Magna Studios is also behind Disney+’s upcoming Oasis documentary, which involves “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight, according to Deadline.
Prime Video will launch the film worldwide in 2027. Altitude will handle the global theatrical release and worldwide home entertainment rights.
No final title has been announced, and Prime Video has not yet released a trailer or exact premiere date. The confirmed pieces so far point to a full-career film, built around Allen’s early internet-fueled rise, her hit singles, her time away from music, and her return with “West End Girl.”
