Netflix gives Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black a fourth season
Netflix has renewed Tyler Perry’s drama Beauty in Black for Season 4, reversing an earlier plan to wrap the series after Season 3.

Netflix is keeping Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black in the family business for longer than expected.
The streamer has renewed the drama for a fourth season before Season 3 has even arrived, Deadline reported. The move changes course from Netflix’s December announcement, when the platform said the Perry series would return for a third and final season.
According to Netflix, the decision follows a strong second-season run. Season 2, released in two batches, spent six weeks on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list and hit No. 1 in 17 countries.
Perry created the series and also directs, writes and executive produces it. The story follows Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, and Mallory, played by Crystle Stewart, two women whose lives collide from very different sides of the power divide.
Kimmie is trying to survive after being thrown out by her mother, while Mallory sits atop a thriving business. Around them is the Bellarie family, whose beauty empire is tied in the show to violence, secrets and an underground trafficking operation.
What Season 3 is set to bring
Netflix has not announced a premiere date for Season 3.
Deadline reported that the upcoming season puts Kimmie at the Bellarie table at last. A lethal family conflict pushes her into a tense partnership with Mallory as the clan turns on one of its own and risks bringing down its empire.
Season 2 focused on the fallout for the family behind the beauty brand and on Kimmie’s mission to save her kidnapped sister, according to the show description reported by Deadline.
Perry said in a statement reported by Deadline that the Bellarie family’s story is “far from finished” and that there was more he wanted to explore. He also thanked viewers who had watched and shared the series, adding, “More episodes are on the way!”

Alongside Williams and Stewart, the cast includes Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.
