Netflix’s Korean drama Teach You A Lesson has raced to 54.9 million global views in the six weeks since its June 5 release, according to figures reported by Deadline and Netflix’s latest What We Watched report.
The action drama is now positioned as one of the streamer’s biggest Korean TV performers to date. Deadline reported that the total puts the series on pace to become Netflix’s second most-watched Korean show ever, behind Squid Game.
Netflix’s first-half 2026 What We Watched report, released Thursday, placed Teach You A Lesson at No. 6 among series worldwide for the period. That ranking is especially notable because the show arrived near the end of the measurement window.
In June alone, Netflix said the series generated 48 million views.
A fast global climb
Teach You A Lesson has been a regular presence on Netflix’s weekly non-English Top 10 chart since its debut, according to Deadline. The series ranked in 91 countries, giving it the kind of international reach that has become a major calling card for Netflix’s Korean slate.
The show has also shown up in U.S. streaming measurement. Nielsen ranked Teach You A Lesson as the No. 4 streaming original for the week of June 8 to June 14, with 611 million minutes watched during its first full week after launch, according to Deadline’s report on Nielsen’s figures.
Deadline noted that the series has had a lower profile in the U.S. than its global numbers might suggest, but Netflix’s viewing data points to a much louder response overseas.
Strong showing in Korea
The series has been especially popular in Korea, where Deadline reported it was the top TV series for three consecutive weeks. It remained in the country’s Top 5 as of the latest report.
Teach You A Lesson is set inside a failing school system under extreme pressure. The story centers on the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau, a fictional government body formed to protect victims and restore order when students, teachers and parents go too far.
The series is directed by Hong Jong-chan and written by Lee Nam-kyu.
Netflix’s latest numbers add another breakout title to its Korean TV lineup, with Teach You A Lesson joining the streamer’s list of non-English series drawing major worldwide audiences. For now, Squid Game remains the benchmark, but Netflix’s own report shows its newest K-drama has already become one of the company’s most-watched series of 2026 so far.
