Offset gets probation in L.A. dispensary assault case

Offset has been ordered to serve 12 months of probation in a Los Angeles criminal case tied to an alleged fight at a cannabis dispensary, according to court records obtained by TMZ.

The rapper, whose legal name is Kiari Cephus, was also ordered to complete community service and take an anger management class, TMZ reports.

The court imposed several other conditions, according to the records cited by TMZ. Offset must stay away from the dispensary where the confrontation allegedly happened, avoid threatening anyone and not own or possess any dangerous weapon.

He was also ordered to pay restitution, though TMZ reports the amount has not yet been determined.

The case stems from a March 2025 incident at MedMen LAX. TMZ previously reported that Offset was charged with assault after security guard Jim Sanchez accused him of attacking him at the dispensary.

According to TMZ’s earlier reporting, Sanchez claimed the dispute began when he asked Offset for identification. Sanchez alleged that Offset became hostile, struck him in the face and had other people attack him.

Sanchez also claimed he was hospitalized and suffered injuries, TMZ reported.

Offset has denied the accusations. According to TMZ, he said Sanchez spit on him and that the spit triggered the altercation.

The court records reported by TMZ do not list a fixed restitution total, but they do lay out the probation period and behavioral conditions attached to the sentence.

The sentence adds a legal resolution to a case that began with a confrontation at one of Los Angeles’ best-known airport-area dispensaries. For Offset, the requirements now include staying away from the shop, completing the court-ordered programs and following the restrictions set by the judge.
