Pamela Anderson is not packing the red swimsuit again for the Pamela Anderson Baywatch reboot question fans have been asking. The actor told Deadline she has “no plans” to return as CJ Parker in Fox’s new version of Baywatch.
Anderson said Deadline had not been contacted about appearing in the reboot and said she knows little about the project. She added that her sons had been approached at one point about producing, but she did not believe that arrangement came together.
Her answer lands as Fox’s reboot heads toward a January 2027 premiere, with filming already underway, according to Deadline. The new series brings the beach patrol back decades after the original franchise ran from 1989 to 2001.

Based on Anderson’s comments to Deadline, she is not currently planning to appear in Fox’s Baywatch reboot. She said she would have paid attention if her children were involved, but she is now focused on trying roles she has not done before.
Anderson played lifeguard and saxophonist CJ Parker on the original series from 1992 to 1997. She later returned to the franchise with a cameo in the 2017 Baywatch movie.
Deadline reported that Anderson described the original series as a job she loved, saying the beach setting suited her and that the show gave her worldwide visibility. She also said her career path, including Baywatch, helped bring her to this stage of her work.
That stage has changed. After her Golden Globe-nominated performance in 2024’s The Last Showgirl, Anderson told Deadline she wants to make bold choices, surprise audiences and surprise herself. She said she has options under consideration, including a possible return to theater.
What is Fox’s new Baywatch about?
Deadline reported that the reboot follows Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell, as a Baywatch captain. Hobie is the son of Mitch Buchannon, the character played by David Hasselhoff in the original series.
The story changes for Hobie when Charlie, played by Jessica Belkin, arrives and reveals herself as the daughter he did not know he had, according to Deadline. Charlie wants to join the Buchannon legacy and become a lifeguard alongside her father.
The cast also includes Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke and Nader as Selene, Deadline reported. Livvy Dunne will appear in a recurring role as Grace, marking her acting debut.
Two original Baywatch actors are set to return. Deadline reported that David Chokachi will reprise Cody Madison and Erika Eleniak will return as Shauni McClain.
Fox Entertainment and Fremantle are co-producing the series. Matt Nix is showrunner and executive producer, with McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz also executive producing, according to Deadline. McG directed the premiere.
