Select Management Group has promoted Paul Luckenbaugh to Head of Theatrical Talent, Deadline reports, putting the manager in a newly created post focused on film and TV work. The Paul Luckenbaugh Select Management move signals a bigger push into traditional screen entertainment at a company built around creator-led talent.
Luckenbaugh joined Select in 2018, according to Deadline. In the new job, he will help expand the company’s theatrical representation while continuing to manage clients across digital and traditional entertainment.
What is Paul Luckenbaugh's new role at Select Management?
As Head of Theatrical Talent, Luckenbaugh will lead Select’s work in the film and television talent space, according to Deadline. The role is new, and it sits inside a broader effort by Select to connect creator careers with opportunities in Hollywood.
The appointment comes as entertainment companies keep blurring the line between digital fame and screen work. Deadline reported that Select’s growth has moved in the opposite direction of many old-line agencies: where agencies traditionally started with film and TV before adding creator-economy business, Select began with creator-focused management and is now putting more weight behind filmed entertainment.
Luckenbaugh told Deadline he is excited to take the role as Select works at the meeting point of Hollywood and the creator economy. He said traditional and digital entertainment are now more connected, creating more ways for talent to build careers across different areas of the business.
Select Management Partners Lisa Filipelli, Brittany Maxwell, Caroline Nardilla and Amy Neben told Deadline that the company has aimed from the start to link Hollywood with the creator economy. They said Luckenbaugh understands both creator-driven and traditional entertainment and is suited to lead the theatrical division during its next stage of growth.
Which clients does Luckenbaugh work with?
Deadline reported that Luckenbaugh’s client list collectively reaches more than 100 million followers. His roster includes digital-native talent Morgan Evelyn Cook, Gigi Gorgeous, Eva Gutowski, Jess Val Ortiz and Crescent Shay.
He also represents actor-first creators including Roman Banks, Bennett Curran, Jenny Lorenzo, Uly Morazan and JJ Niemann, according to Deadline.
Select’s wider client roster includes Jennifer Affleck, Mikayla Mathews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Aspyn Ovard and Layla Taylor, who are associated with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, Deadline reported. The company also represents actors including Miss Benny, Hannah Love Lanier, Jenny Lorenzo, Uly Morazan, JJ Niemann, Katie Rose and Tyler Scherer, along with creators, athletes and entrepreneurs.
Select also produces Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and its upcoming spinoff, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, according to Deadline.
Who owns Select Management Group?
Select Management Group is part of the Propagate Content family of companies. Deadline reported that the group also includes Artists First, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Parker Management and Sway Social, among others.
The promotion gives Select a named leader for theatrical talent as it builds out work for clients who can move between creator platforms, acting roles and other entertainment projects.
