Percy Jackson and the Olympians is already loading up its next quest: Season 3 has wrapped production, Rick Riordan has said the new run is expected this year, and the guest list now includes gods, hunters and one very burdened Titan.
Disney renewed the series early in March 2025, according to Deadline, setting up a third season based on The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Riordan’s original Percy Jackson series.
Riordan has posted that Season 3 is coming out this year, Deadline reported. The exact release date has not been announced, though Deadline said more details could surface during Disney Entertainment Television’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
A teaser has also been circulating after the Season 2 finale, showing Percy, played by Walker Scobell, and Annabeth, played by Leah Sava Jeffries, in what Deadline described as appearing to be the opening middle school dance scene from The Titan’s Curse.
The Titan’s Curse takes over
Season 3 will adapt The Titan’s Curse, which Deadline described as a darker, heavier turn for Riordan’s demigod saga. The book brings Percy into contact with new allies and mythological powers as the story expands beyond the earlier adventures.
Filming began in August 2025, according to an Instagram post cited by Deadline. That start came a year after production on Season 2 had wrapped.
New faces at Camp Half-Blood and beyond
Disney announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 that Olive Abercrombie will play Bianca Di Angelo and Levi Chrisopulos will play Nico Di Angelo, the children of Hades who team up with Percy in the third book.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Dafne Keen has been cast as Artemis, the goddess of hunting and the moon. The same report said Saara Chaudry will play Zoë Nightshade, Artemis’ lieutenant and an immortal hunter who was formerly a Hesperide, or sunset nymph, and is the daughter of Atlas and Pleione.
Variety reported that Kate McKinnon will appear as Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. Deadline noted that the character can change her appearance depending on who is looking at her.
Deadline also reported that Holt McCallany has been cast as Atlas, the Titan who holds up the sky. The outlet said David Costabile will play Dr. Thorn, a character introduced early in The Titan’s Curse, while Jesse L. Martin will play Frederick Chase, Annabeth’s mortal father.
Variety also reported that Ming-Na Wen has joined as Hera, Jennifer Beals as Demeter and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo.
Who is returning
The series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell and Dior Goodjohn. Season 2 additions included Daniel Diemer as Tyson, Percy’s half brother, and Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, Deadline reported.
Other recurring guest stars listed by Deadline include Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, the leader of Camp Half-Blood, Timothy Simons as Tantalus and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes. Courtney B. Vance has been recast as Zeus following the death of Lance Reddick.
Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal and Margaret Cho were announced for Season 2 as the Gray Sisters. Behind the camera, Jonathan E. Steinberg and showrunner Dan Shotz serve as executive producers, with Riordan credited as co-creator and executive producer.
