PlaqueboyMax and WardrobeWinter turned a tense Streamer University moment into an awards-stage victory on Sunday, when Kai Cenat named them Best Roommates at his campus-style streamer event, TMZ reported.
Cenat presented the award to the pair and credited them with showing teamwork and building the strongest bond on campus, according to TMZ. The moment came after WardrobeWinter publicly backed PlaqueboyMax during a dust-up with other streamers at the university.
On stage, PlaqueboyMax, whose real name is Maxwell Elliot Dent, called WardrobeWinter a genuine friend, TMZ reported. He also described the 17-year-old streamer as a grinder and praised his emotional intelligence.
WardrobeWinter returned the praise during the appearance, according to TMZ, making the win feel less like a throwaway trophy and more like a public stamp on a friendship that had just been tested.
The drama behind the award
The roommate honor landed one day after WardrobeWinter clashed with streamer OjaySuave, TMZ reported.
The disagreement centered on OjaySuave pulling PlaqueboyMax aside on camera to criticize him over a new “Diva” tattoo, according to TMZ. WardrobeWinter objected to the exchange and told OjaySuave to mind his own business and let people be themselves.
TMZ reported that the confrontation became part of a wider moment at Streamer University, with several other streamers later speaking up in support of PlaqueboyMax and encouraging him to continue being himself.
OjaySuave, for his part, did not appear to walk back his remarks after the incident, TMZ reported.
Kai Cenat’s streamer campus keeps drawing attention
The award was part of Cenat’s Streamer University awards, an event built around creators living and filming in a campus-style setting. TMZ identified the Best Roommates winners as PlaqueboyMax and WardrobeWinter.
The ceremony gave the pair a lighter follow-up to a heated exchange that had already drawn attention online. For PlaqueboyMax, the stage moment became a chance to publicly thank the person who had defended him in front of cameras.
For WardrobeWinter, the award capped a weekend in which his loyalty to PlaqueboyMax became a storyline of its own. TMZ reported that both roommates used the stage to speak positively about each other after the tattoo controversy put their bond in the spotlight.
