Riley Keough joins Netflix’s Enigma Variations cast
Devon Terrell, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Nicholas Podany have also boarded the limited series based on André Aciman’s novel.

Netflix’s limited series Enigma Variations has added four more names to its cast, with Riley Keough, Devon Terrell, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Nicholas Podany joining the André Aciman adaptation, Deadline reported Thursday.
The newly announced cast members will appear alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Alicia Vikander, who had already been set for the project. Taylor-Johnson will play Paul, while Vikander will play Claire, according to Deadline.
Keough has been cast as Maude. Terrell will play Manfred. Podany will play Harlan. Clemons-Hopkins will play Noah.
A love story built across a decade
The series is based on Aciman’s bestselling novel of the same name. Deadline reported that the story centers on Paul, a man whose relationships reshape his life across 10 years.
The project follows Paul through lovers who affect him in powerful and difficult ways, with the series framed around masculinity, sexuality and modern romance, according to Deadline’s description of the show.
Deadline also reported that, as in Aciman’s book, Paul is sexually fluid and moves between male and female partners.
Amanda Kate Shuman wrote the series and will serve as showrunner. Oliver Hermanus is attached to direct.
The team behind the Netflix series
Shuman and Hermanus are executive producers on Enigma Variations. Michael Ellenberg, Christina Malach and Lindsey Springer are also executive producing for Media Res, with Aciman and Monica Levinson listed as executive producers as well.
Media Res is the studio behind the limited series, Deadline reported.
The new additions bring a wide range of recent screen credits to the Netflix project. Keough is known for Daisy Jones and the Six and Jay Kelly. Terrell’s credits include It’s What’s Inside, Barry and The Assassin.
Podany has appeared in Ponies and Saturday Night. Clemons-Hopkins is known for Hacks and Candyman.
Aciman’s work has already had a major footprint in screen romance through Call Me by Your Name, though Deadline’s report on Enigma Variations focused on the new Netflix adaptation and its growing cast.
With Taylor-Johnson leading the series as Paul and Vikander already attached as Claire, the latest casting news fills out the romantic orbit around a character whose life is defined by desire, choice and the people who leave a mark.
