Ruaridh Aldington Starfleet Academy casting news landed at San Diego Comic-Con, with the actor set to join season 2 of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as a series regular, Deadline reported Saturday.
The announcement came during the Star Trek presentation at the convention, where Aldington’s new castmate Karim Diané revealed the addition, according to Deadline.
Aldington will play Keats, described in Deadline’s report as a young alien the cadets meet while away from the Academy on a mission. Keats arrives with a hidden past, and the cadets’ decision to bring him back to Starfleet Academy quickly raises the stakes.
Once he is at the Academy, the cadets learn that Keats is wanted and that his life is under threat, according to the character details reported from Comic-Con.
