Sadie Sink rules out two Spider-Man fan theories, sort of
Sadie Sink confirmed she is in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but her actual Marvel role remains under wraps.

Sadie Sink has given Spider-Man fans three answers about her role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and only one of them really clears anything up: yes, she is in the movie.
In a new Instagram video tied to the Sony Pictures film, Sink addressed the swirl of speculation that has followed her casting. The clip teased that she would reveal three facts about her character, though the answers kept the central mystery firmly sealed.
“Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing,” Sink said in the Instagram clip. “To match your incredible energy, I’ve decided to give you three exclusive, confirmed answers right now.”
Her first reveal was playful and blunt. Sink said she could confirm she is not Spider-Man. She followed with another denial, saying she is not Aunt May, the Peter Parker family figure played by Marisa Tomei in the recent films.
Tomei’s Aunt May died in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Sink did not name the character she is playing in the new film.
For her third “confirmed” answer, Sink said she could say for sure that she is in the movie. She added that viewers would have to find out her real identity in theaters.
The Instagram caption for the post leaned into the gag, saying, “We can confirm…she’s in this movie.”
Sink praises Tom Holland on set
Sink has also spoken about joining the Spider-Man world alongside Tom Holland. In an interview with Nylon, she described entering the superhero franchise as an outsider and said Holland and the crew made the experience comfortable.
“It was interesting stepping into that space and being a little bit of an outsider in that way, but he could not have been more welcoming, and just the whole crew in general,” Sink told Nylon. “He was just so relaxed and open, and I felt very at ease.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day centers on Peter Parker after the events that left the world without any memory of him, according to the film’s logline. The story follows Peter fighting crime full time while watching his former friends continue their lives without him.
The logline says that pressure pushes Peter toward a change he may not be able to control. That transformation may also be what he needs to face a new threat to the city and the people he loves: a powerful villain no one can see.
Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Holland, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Liza Colón-Zayas, Mark Ruffalo and Sink. Sink’s character, for now, remains one of the film’s most closely guarded secrets.
