Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill filming together was enough to stop one YouTuber in his tracks, and the result was a very awkward Venice Beach run-in caught on video.
In a clip posted Friday by vlogger Yung Mooch, Rogen and Hill are seen seated on scooters during what appears to be a scene for an upcoming project. The video shows Mooch walking up to the actors as cameras are rolling, prompting Rogen to cut in quickly.
“No! We’re working,” Rogen says in the video as Mooch approaches and introduces himself. Mooch then fist-bumps Hill as Rogen keeps trying to wave him off.
Deadline reported that the clip has gone viral and that the project being filmed has not been identified. The outlet also reported it has contacted Apple for comment.
What were Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill filming?
The project has not been confirmed. Rogen has recently been filming Season 2 of Apple TV’s The Studio, and Deadline reported that his Apple series Platonic was renewed for a third season in December, but it is not clear whether either show is connected to the Venice Beach shoot with Hill.
As the cameras keep rolling, Mooch asks Hill for advice for people trying to make it in Los Angeles. Hill responds, “Just enjoy your life, be a kind person,” while a crew member tries to step in and Rogen appears increasingly frustrated.
Mooch then turns the same question toward Rogen. At the same time, the video shows a friend taking a selfie with Hill.
Rogen answers with a warning that doubles as a pretty direct production-etiquette lesson: “I would say, don’t fuck with people while they’re trying to make their show. That’s probably not a good idea.”
Mooch keeps pressing, and Rogen eventually gives a shorter answer: “Be yourself.” The vlogger then addresses his camera and says they had “caught a mid-movie production,” calling it “Los Angeles right here.”
The encounter drew attention because Rogen and Hill have a long screen history together. Their shared credits include The 40-Year-Old Virgin in 2005, Knocked Up and Superbad in 2007, and This Is The End in 2013.
Deadline noted that the last project featuring both actors was the 2016 adult animated comedy Sausage Party. The Venice Beach clip now suggests they may be back in the same orbit, though the title, format and release plans for the new project remain unknown.
