Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer brings Hulk into the fight
Sony’s third trailer for the Marvel film shows Tom Holland’s Spider-Man back in New York, with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in the mix.

Sony Pictures has dropped a new look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the big green guest star is no background cameo. The third trailer, billed on YouTube as the final trailer, includes fresh footage of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk clashing with Tom Holland’s web-slinger.
The Sony and Marvel film is set to arrive in theaters on July 31. Destin Daniel Cretton directs the latest chapter in Holland’s run as Peter Parker, following the character after the events that left the world without memory of who he is.
According to the film’s official logline, Spider-Man is now living by himself and fighting crime in a New York that does not remember his name. After wiping himself from the memories and lives of the people around him, Peter has thrown himself into protecting the city full time.
The logline says the strain of that mission begins to build, triggering “a surprising physical evolution” that puts Peter’s existence at risk. At the same time, a strange run of crimes points toward one of the most powerful enemies he has faced.
A stacked Marvel return
Holland leads the cast again, with Zendaya also returning. Variety reported that the pair recently confirmed they are married.
Other returning names include Jacob Batalon, Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal and Michael Mando. The new cast additions listed for the film are Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colon-Zayas and Marvin Jones II.
The trailer keeps the focus on Peter’s next stage, shifting the action back to New York’s high-rise world. The footage also puts Hulk directly into Spider-Man’s orbit, giving the movie another familiar Marvel face alongside Holland’s solo franchise regulars.
Trailer numbers already broke through
The marketing campaign has already drawn heavy attention. Variety reported that the film’s first trailer reached 718 million views in its first 24 hours in March, making it the biggest trailer debut ever. The same report said it became the first movie trailer to pass 1 billion views, hitting that mark in four days.
Sony chairman Tom Rothman talked up the scale of the film at CinemaCon. “It’s as big as anything we’ve ever made, and yet it feels like nothing we’ve ever made,” Rothman said, according to Variety. He added that Holland gives “his finest performance” in the movie.
