Suri Cruise Midsummer searches are about to spike: TMZ reports that Suri Noelle, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has landed a role in a modern Shakespeare adaptation headed to Scotland.

According to TMZ, Suri, who stopped using the Cruise surname in 2024, is part of a Carnegie Mellon University student group performing Midsummer!, a modern-verse take on William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The production is set for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe next month, TMZ reports, with daily performances scheduled for 12:30 PM.

What is Suri Cruise performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe?

Midsummer! is described by TMZ as a contemporary version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of Shakespeare’s best-known comedies about romance, mistaken identities and fairy mischief. The update, according to the report, mixes Appalachian folk, house music, queer liberation and Pittsburgh’s industrial style.

The Carnegie Mellon cast will not go straight to Scotland. TMZ reports that two U.S. performances are scheduled first, on July 31 and August 1, at the Trust Arts Education Center’s Peirce Studio in Pittsburgh.

Suri is studying music theater at Carnegie Mellon, according to TMZ. The move keeps her close to the stage after she appeared in her high school’s production of The Addams Family musical.

TMZ also notes that earlier reports had connected Suri with a possible fashion degree, but her current path is music theater. Her parents both built careers in acting, with Cruise among Hollywood’s biggest movie stars and Holmes known for film, television and stage work.

Who is Suri Noelle?

Suri Noelle is the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. TMZ reports that she dropped the Cruise surname in 2024 and now uses Noelle.

The casting puts her in a student production rather than a Hollywood project, but the booking is drawing attention because of her famous parents and her own move into musical theater training.

TMZ reports it is unclear whether Tom Cruise plans to attend the performances. The outlet described Cruise and Suri as estranged and did not report any comment from Cruise, Holmes or Suri about who may be in the audience.

For now, the confirmed itinerary is Pittsburgh first, then the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where the Carnegie Mellon group will bring its modern Shakespeare spin across the Atlantic.
