Former pro skateboarder Terry Kennedy is facing a new legal fight after a Terry Kennedy assault arrest in Denver, where police say his pregnant girlfriend alleged he hit her in the head and pushed her during an argument, according to TMZ.
Kennedy, 41, was arrested earlier this month and booked on two assault charges, TMZ reported. Police also listed an out-of-state charge that they said was tied to an alleged parole violation.
Why was Terry Kennedy arrested?
Police said officers responded to a call shortly before 10 p.m. on July 13 and spoke with Chantise Knatt-Jackson, who told them she had been dating Kennedy for about six months and was nearly three months pregnant, according to TMZ.
Officers said they saw a small cut in the center of Knatt-Jackson’s forehead and a larger cut on the lower left side of her head, TMZ reported.
According to police, Knatt-Jackson alleged Kennedy was upset over business dealings when he punched her. Police said she also alleged he pushed her as she tried to get to the door, causing her to fall and strike her head on a door handle.
Knatt-Jackson told officers she then got up, went into a bathroom and messaged a neighbor asking them to call police, according to TMZ.
Paramedics who responded noted an injury to the back of her head that might need stitches, police said, according to TMZ.
What has Terry Kennedy said?
Police said Kennedy denied there had been any altercation with Knatt-Jackson when officers questioned him, TMZ reported.
K-R.O.K, the CEO of 3rd Eye Recordings, which manages Kennedy, told TMZ the company was aware of the situation and was looking into it. The executive said the company wanted to pray for Kennedy and his family members, and added that it does not condone domestic violence of any kind.
TMZ reported Kennedy appeared to remain in custody, with bond allowed on only two of the charges.
What is Terry Kennedy’s legal history?
Kennedy’s latest arrest comes months after his release from prison. TMZ reported he was released on New Year’s Eve in 2025.
He was arrested in 2021 and later charged with first-degree murder in the death of skateboarder Josiah Kassahun, according to TMZ. Kennedy was acquitted of murder, but he was convicted on two counts of aggravated battery and sentenced to five years in prison.
The new allegations have not been proven in court. Kennedy has denied the altercation to police, according to TMZ, and his management company said it is investigating the situation.
