The Pacers star and former Iowa State cheerleader married in Indianapolis ahead of their planned Aug. 1 ceremony, according to TMZ.

Tyrese Haliburton and Jade Jones are officially married after a courthouse stop in Indianapolis, with the bigger celebration still on the calendar.
TMZ reported that the Indiana Pacers guard and Jones, a former Iowa State cheerleader, got married Tuesday at the Indianapolis Marriage License Office. The legal ceremony came a little more than a week before their planned Aug. 1 wedding ceremony, according to the outlet.
Jones marked the moment on social media Tuesday, posting photos from outside the building and writing, “It’s (courthouse) official 🍾💍,” according to TMZ.
The photos showed Jones in a white dress holding a bouquet, while Haliburton kept the courthouse look casual in a black T-shirt and black pants, TMZ reported. The couple also had witnesses with them for the Indianapolis trip.
From Iowa State to marriage license
Haliburton and Jones’ relationship traces back to their college days at Iowa State, according to TMZ. Haliburton played basketball for the Cyclones, while Jones was part of the school’s cheer squad.
The couple began dating in 2019, TMZ reported. Haliburton later proposed on the Iowa State campus in July 2025.
Haliburton has since become a star for the Pacers, while Jones has been a familiar presence alongside him through major moments in his career and their relationship.
The courthouse ceremony gives the couple their legal wedding date before the larger Aug. 1 event. TMZ did not report additional details about the upcoming ceremony, including the location or guest list.
A painful absence before the wedding
The wedding buildup has also included a tragedy for the couple. TMZ reported that Makenzi Kern, a friend of Jones, died last month during Jones’ bachelorette trip in St. Barts because of health complications.
Jones later honored Kern in a social media tribute, according to TMZ. In that post, Jones said the wedding day would not feel the same without her friend, while also saying she believed Kern would be present in spirit.
The courthouse announcement now puts Haliburton and Jones into their next chapter ahead of the formal celebration. Their legal marriage is done, the rings are official, and the planned ceremony is close behind.
