Zosia Mamet is heading into Industry Season 5, with Variety reporting that the actor has joined HBO’s British finance drama for its final run.
Mamet will appear as Carmen Dame, described by Variety as a fitness influencer who has become the founder and CEO of a wellness tech company. The role brings her back to HBO territory after past work on the network and its streaming side.
The fifth season of Industry has already been announced as the show’s last. Variety reports that the final installment will run eight episodes, with production scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom during the first week of August.
Who is Zosia Mamet playing in Industry season 5?
Mamet is playing Carmen Dame, a wellness tech founder and chief executive who previously built a profile as a fitness influencer, according to Variety. The character joins a show centered on high-pressure finance, ambition and power around the banking world.
HBO’s returning and incoming ensemble for the season is packed. Variety lists the cast as Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Kit Harington, Ken Leung, Max Minghella, Miriam Petche, Sagar Radia, Toheeb Jimoh, Charlie Heaton, Amy James-Kelly, Roger Barclay, Andrew Havill, Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, Jack Farthing, Stephen Campbell Moore, Claire Forlani and Edward Holcroft.
Mamet is best known to many HBO viewers for playing Shoshanna Shapiro on Girls. She also starred opposite Kaley Cuoco for two seasons on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant.
Her television résumé also includes United States of Tara, Parenthood, Mad Men and Tales of the City. On the film side, Variety notes credits including Under the Silver Lake, Alone Together and Madame Web.

Industry was created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, who also write and executive produce the series. Variety reports that the show is a Bad Wolf production for HBO and the BBC.
The executive producing team includes Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther and Ryan Rasmussen for Bad Wolf, Kathleen McCaffrey for Little Gems, and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC. Variety also reports that Season 4 directors included Down and Kay, Michelle Savill and Luke Snellin, while writers included Down, Kay and Joseph Charlton.
Mamet is represented by UTA, 3 Arts Entertainment and Weintraub Tobin Chediak Coleman Grodin, according to Variety.
HBO has not announced a premiere date in Variety’s report. For now, the clock is ticking toward the last eight episodes of Industry, with Mamet’s Carmen Dame entering the mix as the series heads for its finish.
