Brandon Blackstock’s Montana ranch hits market for $2.9 million

The Montana property Brandon Blackstock bought after his divorce from Kelly Clarkson is up for sale for $2.9 million, Realtor.com reported.
The 40-acre spread in Butte, Montana, was purchased by Blackstock in April 2022, one month after his divorce from Clarkson was finalized, according to public records cited by Realtor.com. Blackstock died in August 2025 at age 48 after cancer, the outlet reported.
Blackstock, a talent manager from Fort Worth, Texas, and Clarkson were married for nine years. They had two children together, River, now 12, and Remington, now 10.
The former couple announced their separation in 2020 after spending time in Montana during the COVID-19 lockdown, Realtor.com reported. Clarkson later kept two Montana properties from their marriage, while Blackstock stayed in the state and bought the Butte home now on the market.
Realtor.com reported that Blackstock had been living there with his partner, Brittney Marie Jones, who previously worked as an assistant to Clarkson.
Inside the Butte property
The listing describes the home as a high-end Montana retreat with wide-open privacy and architectural polish. At the center of the parcel is a lodge-style residence with more than 6,400 square feet of living space, according to Realtor.com.
The home includes a chef’s kitchen and a large great room with vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows looking out over the property, the listing says. A loft sits above the main living area.
On the lower level, the listing describes additional bedrooms, a living room and a bar area. The main-floor primary suite includes a fireplace, an en suite bathroom, a soaking tub and a steam room, according to Realtor.com.
The flashiest amenity may be the indoor pool and spa room. Realtor.com reported that three walls of windows allow the space to open toward the outdoors.
The property is also set up for horses. The listing includes a 3,800-square-foot barn with eight stalls, a tack room and a hay loft, along with a heated workshop, a car shop and three water wells.
For Montana winters, the property has snow-melt sidewalks and a paved driveway leading to a county-maintained road, according to the listing.
His Montana businesses
The home was listed in June and is represented by Ryan Underwood of Keller Williams Copper City Realty, Realtor.com reported. Records cited by the outlet show the residence remains registered under Blackstock’s full name, Narvel Brandon Blackstock.
Blackstock also invested in local businesses after moving to Montana. Public records cited by Realtor.com show he filed a petition in May 2023 to change the name and ownership license for Headwaters Livestock Auction in Three Forks, Montana.
The Headwaters Livestock Auction website still lists Blackstock as owner and Jones as managing director, according to Realtor.com. The outlet also reported that the pair worked together on Valley View Rodeo, founded in 2023.
An online obituary for Blackstock said he returned to the mountains after more than 20 years in the music business and helped build Headwaters Livestock Auction and Valley View Rodeo with Jones.
