Josh Duhamel house sale closes at $3.4 million in Los Angeles
Realtor.com says Josh Duhamel sold his L.A. home above asking as he talks up life at his off-grid Minnesota cabin.

The Josh Duhamel house sale is done, and the “Ransom Canyon” actor did not leave Los Angeles quietly: Realtor.com reported that his longtime L.A. property sold for $3.4 million, topping the $2.99 million asking price by more than $400,000.
Duhamel, 53, put the home on the market on June 25, according to Realtor.com, and the listing shifted to pending status within days. The outlet reported that Thomas Atamian of Coldwell Banker Realty represented Duhamel, while Andrew Pearce of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
The actor bought the home in 2017 for $2.7 million, according to Realtor.com. The sale lands during Duhamel’s press run for the second season of Netflix’s “Ransom Canyon,” where he plays ranch owner Staten Kirkland.

Realtor.com reported that Duhamel has been clear about wanting to spend more time away from California, including at his off-grid Minnesota cabin and in Fargo, North Dakota, with his wife, Audra Mari. The outlet said it is not clear whether he plans to keep another California home base after selling the Encino property.
Duhamel has connected his “Ransom Canyon” role to his real life. In a CBS Mornings appearance cited by Realtor.com, he said the part drew on his North Dakota upbringing and the rustic life he has built around his Minnesota retreat.
The Los Angeles house was hardly roughing it. According to the listing cited by Realtor.com, the home sits on just over one-third of an acre and measures 3,310 square feet. The property includes a pool, spa, fire pit, built-in barbecue, sauna and multiple outdoor areas for dining and lounging.
The listing described “panoramic jetliner and mountain views” from much of the property. Atamian said in a statement that the home stood out because of its position, privacy, architecture and updates.
Inside, the home has an open layout with large windows, a great room, kitchen, dining area and living area that connect to the backyard through sliding glass walls, according to the listing details reported by Realtor.com. The primary suite also opens toward the pool area and includes two walk-in closets, while the bathroom has a soaking tub and marble shower.
The home was built in 1962 and received major renovations in 2023, according to the listing. Updates included refinished hardwood floors, new carpeting, interior paint and a remodeled guest bathroom.

Duhamel’s Minnesota property is a remote retreat he has owned for years. In a 2023 video with YouTube host Graham Bensinger, Duhamel said his father first showed him the place, and he described wanting land that was far from everything.
He said he first bought 12 acres and later expanded the property to about 50 acres, according to Realtor.com’s account of the interview. Duhamel, who called himself a “doomsday prepper,” showed survival-minded features including three wells and food plots planted with clover and chicory to attract game.
In that same Bensinger interview, Duhamel said he had learned hunting because he felt it was a skill he might need if his family ever had to live off the land. He also said he wanted somewhere to go if a crisis disrupted everyday life.
Duhamel told Country Living in 2025 that the cabin was extremely basic for years, with no plumbing and outdoor toilets. He said the family washed dishes in the lake before later upgrades brought more comfort while keeping the place rustic.
On Dana Carvey and David Spade’s “Fly on the Wall” podcast, Duhamel said the property lowers his stress and gives him projects to work on. He also said he and his family built a new dwelling there after the original two small cabins proved too cramped for his family.
