Orlando Bloom’s Malibu house sale is back on, with the actor relisting his beachside property for $9,999,999 after pulling it from the market in June, according to Realtor.com.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor first put the Western Malibu home up for sale in March at $12 million, Realtor.com reported. The asking price was later cut to $11.45 million before the property was removed from listings on June 23.
Bloom returned the home to the market on July 17 at just under $10 million and is also offering it as a rental for $35,000 a month, TMZ first reported.
How much is Orlando Bloom asking for his Malibu house?
The current sale price is $9,999,999, according to the listing cited by Realtor.com. That is about $2 million below the original March asking price.
Bloom bought the property in 2011 for $2.5 million, when he was married to model Miranda Kerr, Realtor.com reported. The couple split in 2013, and Bloom kept the Malibu home after their divorce.
The listing, held by Carl Gambino of The Gambino Group at Compass, describes the property as sitting just above the sand on a private gated street in Western Malibu. Realtor.com reported that the home has 4,181 square feet of living space.
The listing copy says the residence was “restored and reimagined” by artist and furniture designer Roy McMakin. It also describes the home as preserving its 1974 post-and-beam character while adding custom millwork, cabinetry, tile, built-ins and furnishings made for the property.
What comes with the Malibu beach property?
According to the listing cited by Realtor.com, the home includes direct ocean views, multiple covered terraces, a five-car garage and parking for four more vehicles.
- A glass-and-timber gym
- A barrel sauna
- An outdoor soaking tub
- Private beach access
- Advanced security, according to Realtor.com
Realtor.com reported that the interiors include a living area with a fireplace and ocean views, plus a kitchen with sage green cabinetry, a wooden island and high-end appliances. The bathrooms are described as colorful, with yellow and blue among the finishes, and include soaking tubs and vanities.
Listing images cited by Realtor.com show private stone steps leading down to the beach, where a small cabana is positioned behind a private gate.
What happened with Bloom’s Beverly Hills home?
The Malibu relisting comes shortly after Bloom’s former Beverly Hills mansion appeared as a luxury rental at $31,000 a month, according to Realtor.com.
Bloom bought that four-bedroom, four-bathroom property in 2017 for $7 million, then listed it two years later for $8.49 million, Realtor.com reported. After several price cuts, he sold it for $7 million.
The Beverly Hills home was built in 1959 and had previously been owned by Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragonés, who expanded and updated its midcentury modern design, according to Realtor.com.
After buying it, Bloom made further changes, including a zero-edge pool with an ipe wood deck that Realtor.com said was understood to have cost $500,000, plus an outdoor entertaining area with built-in seating and a fire pit. Realtor.com also reported that Bloom opened the floor plan, expanded the kitchen, added more natural light and installed bespoke Poliform fixtures and indoor LED lighting.
