Arsenal are pressing ahead with a move for Aston Villa wide man Morgan Rogers, with transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that the 23-year-old has become the Gunners’ main winger target.
Romano said discussions are already advanced on the player’s side. The chase is being treated separately from Arsenal’s move for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, with ESPN reporting the north London club had wanted both players rather than choosing one or the other.
Romano also reported that Arsenal are not in talks for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, despite the club’s push to add wide attacking options.
Barcelona admire Porro, but Spurs hold the cards
Barcelona have been impressed by Pedro Porro’s World Cup performances for Spain, according to Mundo Deportivo, but any move for the Tottenham Hotspur right back looks difficult.
The 26-year-old has scored against Austria and France during the tournament, while Mundo Deportivo also pointed to his partnership with Lamine Yamal on Spain’s right flank. Tottenham have already acted to extend Porro’s contract to 2031, making a Barcelona deal remote in the Spanish outlet’s telling.
Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona’s priority is to bring João Cancelo back from Al Hilal. The club would only move for a centre back if Ronald Araújo leaves.
Manchester United look at midfield options
Manchester United are discussing Fulham midfielder Sander Berge internally as they refine their midfield shortlist, TEAMtalk reported.
The 28-year-old has impressed for Fulham and for Norway at the World Cup, according to the report. TEAMtalk said United wanted three midfielders after Casemiro’s departure and, after missing out on Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes, moved to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.
United are also in the frame for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, according to transfer journalist Rudy Galetti. Galetti reported that Atlético Madrid and Juventus are interested too, with Palace valuing the 29-year-old at £25 million and willing to sell because his contract has one year left.
Liverpool linked with Sano and Wharton
Liverpool are leading the race for Mainz defensive midfielder Kaishu Sano and are ready to bid up to €60 million, TEAMtalk reported.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are also tracking the 25-year-old and have contacted his representatives, according to the report. Sano has drawn attention in the Bundesliga and at the World Cup, including a goal against Brazil.
Football Transfers reported that Liverpool have also made Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton their preferred summer option after passing on the chance to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes.
