The Dodgers and Yankees open a three-game set at Yankee Stadium on Friday with sportsbooks barely separating them: Los Angeles is listed at -110 and New York at -109, according to CBS Sports.
It is the headliner on a full MLB slate. CBS Sports’ Gene Menez noted that the Dodgers enter with baseball’s best record at 61-36, a league-leading +149 run differential and an 11.5-game lead in the NL West. The Yankees, meanwhile, remain second in the AL East with no return date listed for Aaron Judge, but they still own the American League’s top run differential at +91 and sit three games behind the Rays for the AL’s best record.
CBS Sports reported the Yankees have played without Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Max Fried and Carlos Rodon. Friday’s opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET on MLB Network, with Gerrit Cole facing Roki Sasaki.

CBS Sports expert Matt Snyder’s play is Yankees -102. Snyder said the Yankees’ offense began to come around before the All-Star break and helped fuel a four-game winning streak. CBS Sports reported New York has scored 26 runs across its last four games.
White Sox at Blue Jays
SportsLine’s model likes Chicago at +114 for Friday’s 7:15 p.m. ET game in Toronto, giving the White Sox a 53.0% win chance and a B grade on the money line.
Chicago went into the All-Star break by sweeping the Athletics in three games and outscoring them 24-2, according to CBS Sports. Left-hander Anthony Kay, listed at 6-4 with a 4.23 ERA, is set to start for the White Sox.
The Blue Jays have struggled against left-handed pitching, according to CBS Sports, carrying a .649 OPS in that split. That mark is second-worst in MLB, ahead of only the Mariners at .631.
Tigers at Angels
Detroit visits Anaheim at 9:38 p.m. ET, and CBS Sports expert Matt Snyder is on the Tigers at -104. SportsLine’s model is on Angels +1.5 at -175, giving Los Angeles a 68.0% chance to cover and a B grade on the run line.

England-France looms Saturday

CBS Sports reported Kylian Mbappe is tied with Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race with eight goals, while Messi has four assists to Mbappe’s three. Thomas said the third-place match often turns on motivation and gave France the edge, citing Mbappe and France’s depth.
