Jahmyr Gibbs tops NFL Offensive Player of the Year betting board
DraftKings data cited by CBS Sports has the Lions running back as the +700 favorite and the most-bet player for the 2026 award.

Jahmyr Gibbs is already running out front in one major NFL futures market before the preseason even begins.
DraftKings has the Detroit Lions running back listed at +700 to win 2026 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, according to betting trends reported by CBS Sports. The book’s data, as cited by CBS Sports, also shows Gibbs leading all players in both ticket count and betting handle, though exact percentages were not provided.
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is next at +850 and ranks second in both bets and money at DraftKings, according to the same report.
The betting buzz lands at a busy moment for Gibbs. CBS Sports noted that the 24-year-old, a 2023 first-round pick, is now eligible for an extension on his rookie contract. The report said Gibbs and Robinson could both be in line for top-of-market running back deals, with Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley having raised the bar in March 2025 on a two-year extension worth $20.6 million per year.
Gibbs’ case is built on touchdowns
Gibbs’ 2025 production gives bettors plenty to grab. CBS Sports reported he rushed for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns, while adding 77 catches for 616 yards and five more scores. His 18 total touchdowns ranked second in the NFL.
The report also pointed to several career marks: Gibbs has 49 touchdowns through three NFL seasons, described by CBS Sports as a league record for that span. He is also the second player in NFL history to average at least 5.0 yards per carry in each of three straight seasons with at least 150 attempts each year.
Over the past two seasons, CBS Sports said Gibbs ranks first in scrimmage touchdowns with 38 and third in scrimmage yards with 3,768. He is also the only player in Lions history with more than one season of at least 17 touchdowns.
A bigger workload in Detroit
Detroit’s backfield has changed. CBS Sports reported that the Lions traded David Montgomery to the Houston Texans in March, leaving Gibbs positioned as the clear featured option.
Gibbs played 67% of Detroit’s offensive snaps in 2025, up from 56% in 2024 and 57% as a rookie, according to CBS Sports. The report said some Lions beat writers expect that share to approach 75% this season.
Lions coach Dan Campbell told reporters, “He’s going to be our bell cow now,” according to CBS Sports. Campbell added that Gibbs became more of that player last year and that Detroit plans to rely on the things he does well.
Gibbs and Montgomery had 15 games in which both scored a touchdown, the most ever by an NFL duo, according to CBS Sports. Detroit went 15-0 in those games.
The prop market is busy too
DraftKings lists Gibbs as the +700 fourth choice to lead the NFL in rushing yards, according to CBS Sports. He is also a +550 co-favorite with Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry to score the most touchdowns.
His season props at DraftKings are set at 1,199.5 rushing yards, 12.5 rushing touchdowns, 449 receiving yards and 4.5 receiving touchdowns, CBS Sports reported.
The book also has Gibbs at +700 to be the first player this season with three rushing touchdowns, +750 to be the first to rush for 150 yards in a game and +1600 to reach 2,000 rushing yards, according to the report.
For Week 1 against New Orleans, the SportsLine Projection Model has Gibbs forecast for 15.5 carries, 75 rushing yards, 1.00 rushing touchdown, 4.2 catches, 37 receiving yards and 0.33 receiving touchdowns, according to CBS Sports.
