The New York Jets are adding another clean look to the closet: a new “White Out” helmet set to debut at home against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 20, ESPN reported.

The team unveiled the alternate helmet on Tuesday, showing off a mostly white design that will be paired with the Jets’ Legacy White uniform for Week 2. In a post on X, the Jets called the reveal “it’s here and it’s perfect.”

The helmet keeps the theme tight. According to ESPN, the shell is white, the facemask is white, and the detailing comes in Jets green.

On the side, the helmet carries a green version of the Jets’ updated logo, which ESPN reported was released in 2024. A green “NY” mark appears at the front center of the helmet, feeding into a green stripe that runs across the top.

The back keeps the same palette. ESPN reported that the stripe splits green player numbers, with “New York” printed in green below them.

Part of the Jets’ throwback reset

The new lid connects to a broader uniform shift the Jets made in 2024. ESPN reported that New York moved to its “Sack Exchange” uniforms on a full-time basis that year.

The White Out helmet uses the same colors as the team’s updated Legacy White uniform, according to ESPN. It also features a modern version of the logo New York used from 1978 through 1997.

That makes the Week 2 Packers game a full white-on-white showcase for the Jets, from jersey to helmet. ESPN described the setup as a way for New York to combine the new helmet with the Legacy White uniform for a sleek all-white look.

The Jets’ current uniform set gives them more than one single-color option. ESPN reported that the team also has Legacy Green and Legacy Black uniforms, giving New York three monochrome combinations.

What will be worn against Green Bay

  • Opponent: Green Bay Packers
  • Game: Week 2 at the Jets’ home stadium
  • Date: Sept. 20
  • Helmet: White shell, white facemask, green striping and logos
  • Uniform pairing: Legacy White

The Jets have not been reported by ESPN as adding any other debut dates for the new helmet. For now, the White Out look is tied to the Packers matchup, giving New York a fresh uniform wrinkle early in the season.
