The Madden 27 99 Club is set, and the Los Angeles Rams are getting extra shine: ESPN reported that Myles Garrett and Matthew Stafford are both in the six-player group for “Madden NFL 27.”
EA’s Madden NFL account posted on X that the “Madden 27” 99 Club had been revealed and pointed fans to its ratings hub, which it said would be updated throughout the week. In Madden terms, the 99 Club is the top shelf: players given the game’s maximum overall rating.
ESPN reported that Garrett, a newly acquired Rams edge rusher, stays in the elite ratings club after making it last season. Stafford joins him after being identified by ESPN as the reigning NFL MVP.
Who is in the Madden 27 99 Club?
According to ESPN, the six players with 99 overall ratings in “Madden NFL 27” are Garrett, Stafford, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride.
- Myles Garrett, Los Angeles Rams edge rusher
- Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams quarterback
- Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills quarterback
- Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver
- Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals tight end
That makes the Rams the only team with two players in the group, according to ESPN’s rundown. The club also splits neatly across the field: two quarterbacks, two wide receivers, one edge rusher and one tight end.
Allen is the other quarterback to crack the 99 rating. ESPN reported that he helped Buffalo finish 12-5 in the 2025 season while throwing for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns, then added 579 rushing yards and 14 more scores on the ground.
At wide receiver, Chase and Smith-Njigba take the two spots. ESPN reported that Chase finished last season with 1,412 receiving yards and eight touchdowns for Cincinnati.
Smith-Njigba’s case came with a league-leading number. ESPN reported that the Seahawks receiver topped the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards and also caught 10 touchdowns.
McBride rounds out the group as the only tight end, and ESPN’s figures show why he got the call. The Cardinals standout had 1,239 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns last season, and his 126 catches were reported by ESPN as the most by a tight end in a single season.
When does Madden NFL 27 come out?
“Madden NFL 27” is scheduled for release on Aug. 13, according to ESPN. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
The ratings reveal gives fans the first real pecking order before launch day. For Rams fans, it also means the virtual roster opens with two players carrying the game’s most coveted number.
