Stephen Curry lands Hall of Fame exhibit before retirement
The Warriors star will be the first active player with a dedicated exhibit at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, according to ESPN.

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is giving Stephen Curry the museum treatment while he is still suiting up for the Golden State Warriors.
According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, the Hall is set to open a dedicated Curry exhibit this weekend, making him the first active player in its nearly 75-year history to receive that kind of solo showcase inside the building.
The exhibit, called Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc, opens to the public Friday, July 24, in Springfield, Massachusetts, ESPN reported.
The Hall of Fame said the display will feature items tied to Curry's Olympic and NBA championship runs, along with game-worn gear and archival video tracing his path from an under-the-radar prospect to a four-time NBA champion.
Curry, in a release cited by ESPN, called the honor difficult to describe.
“Being part of the Basketball Hall of Fame in this way is hard to put into words,” Curry said. “When I think about my journey, I think about the people who believed in me, the work that happened when nobody was watching and the moments that shaped me on and off the court. To have that story told while I'm still playing is something I don't take lightly.”
The exhibit arrives before Curry has even closed the book on his NBA career. ESPN reported that he is about to begin his 18th professional season and has said he wants to play at least two more.
John Doleva, the president and CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, said in the release that Curry's influence goes beyond his trophy case.
“Stephen has not only redefined how the game of basketball is played, but he has also set a blueprint for what it means to be an exemplary role model,” Doleva said. “This is truly a historic moment for us and for basketball fans worldwide.”
Curry's next Warriors business could come soon, too. ESPN reported that he is expected to discuss an extension with Golden State once he becomes eligible in late August.
For now, the Hall is making room for the player who helped turn the 3-point line into basketball's hottest address, and it is doing it before he has taken his final NBA shot.
