Amazon is dangling three months of Audible Standard for $0.99, according to NBC Selected, giving new customers a cut-price way into the audiobook app before the deal disappears on July 30.

The offer is for Audible Standard, NBC Selected reports, and it does not require an Amazon Prime membership. After the trial period ends, the subscription costs $8.99 a month, according to the report.

Audible has more than a million titles available, including bestsellers, new releases and Spanish-language titles through Audible Latino, NBC Selected reports. The service lets users buy audiobooks outright, while the Standard subscription includes access to one audiobook each month, unlimited podcasts and exclusive deals and sales, according to NBC Selected.

What the trial includes

NBC Selected says the three-month promotion applies to new customers and prices the trial at $0.99, down from the listed $8.99 monthly cost. The report describes the promotion as an 89% discount.

The subscription offer covers audiobooks across the service, according to NBC Selected. That means listeners can use the trial for fiction, nonfiction, new releases, bestsellers and Spanish-language options listed on Audible Latino.

NBC Selected associate updates editor Zoe Malin said she used Audible often in college, listening to assigned books while walking around campus or commuting as a way to multitask.
