The Overmont Dutch oven deal has put the 7-quart enameled cast iron pot at $39.99 on Amazon, down from $79.99, according to NBC Selected.
The cookware has drawn attention because shoppers on Amazon compare it with higher-end Dutch ovens from brands including Le Creuset. NBC Selected reported that the product page shows 10,423 Amazon reviews, and that one sourdough baker who had used both an Overmont and a Le Creuset said they performed the same.
Is the Overmont Dutch oven deal worth it?
For buyers who want enameled cast iron without paying several hundred dollars, NBC Selected says the sale stands out because comparable cookware from luxury brands can cost far more. The 7-quart Overmont model is listed at 50% off, and many colors are also discounted, according to the report.
A Dutch oven is a heavy pot with a tight-fitting lid that can go from stovetop to oven, depending on the model. Cooks use it for slow braises, soups, stews, roasting, bread baking and other one-pot meals because cast iron holds heat well.
What comes with the Overmont Dutch oven?

What features does the lid have?
The lid is described as heavyweight, which NBC Selected says helps keep juices and flavor inside while food cooks. The underside also has small raised bumps designed to send condensed steam back over the food, a self-basting setup meant to help keep meat from drying out.
