Chris Rock’s Misty Green trailer sends Rosalind Eleazar chasing a comeback
A24’s new trailer follows Rosalind Eleazar as Misty Green, an actress trying to claw back her career in Chris Rock’s fall drama.

A24’s trailer for Misty Green drops Rosalind Eleazar into a bruising comeback story, with Chris Rock directing a drama about fame, addiction, regret and the price of trying again.
Eleazar plays Misty Green, a former breakout actress whose life has veered far from the career she once seemed ready to own. The trailer shows her trying to force her way back into the business while money problems close in.
The clip opens with Misty being thrown out of an apartment by a woman who says it belongs to her husband. The woman spots a gold award on a shelf and reads it aloud: “Best supporting actress, Misty Green. Is that you?”
That early jab sets the tone. Misty has a trophy, a name people half remember and very little leverage.
A comeback with strings attached
Her agent, seen in the trailer, does not sugarcoat the state of her career. “I get it, it’s tough out there,” the agent tells her. “I don’t even know if I can get you on Law and Order right now.”
The trailer frames Misty as someone who has been pulled into the indulgent side of Hollywood after her early success. In one scene, she defends her lifestyle to a friend played by Anna Kendrick, saying, “I wake up when I wanna wake up. I sleep when I wanna sleep. I get high when I wanna get high, and I fuck when I wanna fuck.”
Kendrick’s character fires back with a laugh: “I didn’t know you were a Lil Wayne song. That’s so cool.”
The cast around Eleazar is stacked. Rock appears in the film alongside Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Kendrick and Topher Grace.
Driver’s character brings the trailer’s most ominous offer. At a party, he hands Misty a card and says he is looking for “open-minded friends who might want to make a little extra cash.” The trailer later shows him dangling a sparkling necklace over a pool with his foot as girls reach toward it from the water.
As Misty’s situation worsens, the trailer moves through soundstages, parties, empty city streets and jail. Her agent urges her to stay focused, telling her, “We need to keep our eyes on the prize here.”
Rock returns to directing
Misty Green is set to arrive this fall. The film is Rock’s third feature as director and is based on an original script he wrote.
Rock previously directed Head of State, released in 2003, and I Think I Love My Wife, released in 2007. The new film is described as his most dramatic project as a director to date, following movies that leaned more heavily on comedy.
Rock’s recent screen work includes roles in Rustin, Amsterdam and Spiral: From the Book of Saw, as well as the FX series Fargo. In 2023, he released the live Netflix stand-up special Selective Outrage, where he addressed being slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars.
