A large python tucked inside a car engine in Ontario ended its under-hood adventure by climbing onto an animal services officer’s arm, according to the City of Mississauga.
The city said on social media that its animal services team was called after a mechanic got a report from a local resident about a big snake beneath the hood of a vehicle.
When officers arrived, one reached into the engine compartment to remove the reptile. According to the city’s account, the python moved onto the officer’s arm, allowing the team to get it out safely.
Snake taken to shelter
After the rescue, the python was brought to the Mississauga Animal Shelter, the city said.
Shelter staff found the snake was dehydrated and had a few minor scratches, according to the city’s post. The python is now recovering while in the shelter’s care.
The city did not identify the resident or say how the python ended up in the vehicle’s engine area.
UPI reported the incident Thursday, citing the City of Mississauga’s social media post.
