Rainbow Kitten Surprise book New York stop on Rolling Stone Rock Tour
Rolling Stone says the North Carolina-formed band will play Terminal 5 on Sept. 24, with Common People opening and tickets on sale this week.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise are headed to New York’s Terminal 5 on Sept. 24 as part of the Rolling Stone Rock Tour, Rolling Stone announced Tuesday.
The show, presented by Miller High Life, will feature an opening set from Los Angeles band Common People, according to Rolling Stone. Pre-sale tickets are scheduled to go live at 11 a.m. Eastern on July 22, followed by the general public on-sale at 11 a.m. Eastern on July 23.
For Rainbow Kitten Surprise fans, the booking drops into a busy stretch. Rolling Stone said the band recently wrapped a headlining tour and described their Bonnaroo 2026 performance as one of the festival’s highlights.
A New York date for a growing rock run
Rainbow Kitten Surprise formed in 2013 while the members were in college in North Carolina, according to Rolling Stone. The band released its fifth studio album, Bones, last fall. The record was produced by Jay Joyce.
The Terminal 5 date adds another major city to Rolling Stone’s 2026 Rock Tour calendar. The series began May 20 in New Orleans with Bleachers, ahead of that band’s album Everyone for Ten Minutes, Rolling Stone said.
Since then, the tour has included Geese at Summit Music Hall in Denver on June 25 and Die Spitz at the House of Blues in San Diego on July 16.
The remaining announced 2026 slate includes Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy at the Truth in Nashville on Nov. 2. Rolling Stone also said more details are still to come for an Oct. 15 show at Chicago’s Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom.
Tour started last year
The Rock Tour began in 2025, according to Rolling Stone, with sold-out dates from Mk.gee in Denver, the Beaches in Chicago, Wet Leg in Nashville and MJ Lenderman in New York.
This year’s edition is presented by Miller High Life and is being held in partnership with Sonesta International Hotels, Rolling Stone said. Sonesta Travel Pass members can access perks through sonestaevents.com/rock-tour while supplies last.
Tickets for the Rainbow Kitten Surprise show are being sold through AXS, according to the event listing cited by Rolling Stone.
