Scramble Cloud’s 20TB lifetime storage plan drops to $349.95

A 20TB lifetime subscription to Scramble Cloud Storage is being offered for $349.95, down from a listed regular price of $1,440, according to the deal listing.
The promotion lists a savings of $1,090.05 and positions the plan as a one-time purchase for users who want a large cloud storage allowance without a recurring monthly bill. StackSocial notes that prices are subject to change.
Scramble Cloud says its privacy pitch starts before files ever leave a user’s computer. According to the listing, files are encrypted on the device first, and Scramble does not receive the encryption key.
That setup means Scramble says its staff cannot open stored files. The listing also says the host cannot access them, and neither can an authority that requests them, because the user keeps the key.
The service still includes sharing tools. Users can send an encrypted private link, share directly with other Scramble users, or use group sharing to give family members or coworkers access to an entire folder, according to the listing.
Permissions can be set for each person, the listing says. Scramble also offers Team Link, a feature described as a way to share files with outside partners without requiring them to create an account.
For desktop access, Scramble mounts as a network drive through WebDAV, so stored files can appear inside a regular file explorer. The service also includes a command-line tool, a desktop client and a web app that works in a browser, according to the listing.
Video files can be streamed after upload without being downloaded first, the listing says. That could matter for users storing media libraries, project files or other bulky archives.
The listed infrastructure credentials include ISO 27001 certification and GDPR compliance. Users can also enable two-factor authentication, according to the deal page.
There are limits attached to the plan. Individual files are capped at 5GB each, and the daily upload limit is 70GB, according to the listing.
