Takis is sending Spider-Man fans to the snack aisle before they head to the theater.
The chip brand has launched limited-edition packaging connected to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and shoppers who buy $15 in qualifying Takis products from July 1 through Aug. 31 can earn $8 in Fandango Rewards toward a movie ticket, according to Takis.
The offer arrives ahead of the film’s July 31 theatrical release. Takis says the collectible bags are available at participating retailers across the country.
Which Takis bags are part of the Spider-Man promo?
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day designs appear on four rolled tortilla chip flavors: Fuego, Blue Heat, Intense Nacho, and Nitro.
Takis says each flavor has its own collectible look tied to the movie. The company has not detailed the full terms beyond the $15 qualifying purchase requirement, the $8 Fandango Rewards amount, and the July 1 to Aug. 31 promotional window.
The reward can be used toward a ticket for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to the promotion. Fandango Rewards are the ticket-discount component of the tie-in.
More than a bag redesign
Takis says the movie partnership will also show up through the summer with fan experiences, influencer content, and in-store promotions.
The brand did not specify locations, dates, or participating influencers for those extra activations in the announcement. For shoppers, the clearest part of the deal is the retail offer: buy eligible Takis products during the promotion period and earn the ticket reward.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to open only in theaters on July 31. The film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
The promo gives Marvel fans a snack-branded route to shaving a few dollars off a cinema trip, with Takis using four of its biggest rolled chip flavors as the collectible hook.
