The Diddy prison head injury story has taken a sharp turn: officials at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey have denied reports that Sean Combs fought fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke.

Deadline reported Oct. 15 that Fort Dix officials called the account false and said it did not happen. The denial addressed reports of an alleged Oct. 9 altercation, not the cause of Combs’ reported hospital visit.

What did Fort Dix officials say about Diddy’s reported prison head injury?

According to Deadline’s account of the officials’ response, the prison cited privacy, safety and security reasons for declining to discuss any individual’s conditions of confinement. The Bureau of Prisons said Combs remained in its custody at FCI Fort Dix and gave no further information.

That means the available record does not establish whether Combs had an injury, what may have caused it, what treatment he received or his current housing status. No Bureau of Prisons release, medical record or incident report is included in the available material.

Deadline reported that Combs was taken to a local hospital early on Oct. 10 and returned to Fort Dix about 12 hours later. NewsNation also reported, while attributing its account to TMZ and other reporting, that Combs was taken from the facility for treatment. Those are reported accounts, rather than a confirmation from prison or medical records.

Where did the reported fight claim come from?

NewsNation and LiveNOW from FOX said TMZ had reported an alleged physical confrontation between Combs and Coke, a Jamaican inmate known as “Dudus.” The TMZ-sourced account alleged the dispute followed attention over reported conditions at the prison.

Fort Dix’s reported denial directly conflicts with that allegation. Neither NewsNation nor the FOX segment supplied independent confirmation of a fight, and the FOX report described the matter as developing.

Combs spokesperson Juda Engelmayer told Deadline he had not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. Engelmayer said there was no verified information that Combs had been attacked by Coke or anyone else, or that he had sustained injuries.

Combs is serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix after a 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, Deadline and NewsNation reported. But on the question driving the latest reports, the publicly available details remain thin: Deadline quoted the prison as denying the fight, and the reported reason for the hospital trip has not been disclosed.
